Apr 12, Tony rated it it was ok Shelves: The author is primarily known for his poetry, but has written several plays besides the ones in this collection. He was born inand, from what I could find out, is still alive and kicking in his native Poland.

Events in his dramas defy linearity and, instead, tend to ricochet throughout various kxrtoteka of his time kartotkea. The three plays in this collection include: The play itself, though it is broken into four scenes, has no dramatic content.

Through all of these strange contacts, the Hero finally constructs his personality as it exists today — a meaningless contradiction of thoughts and ideals. His real self still remains private, even to himself. Henry goes out, for some unknown reason, and his family becomes worried. He is one hour late for his normal appearence.

He is finally returned by an ambulance crew to his family — wrapped up like a mummy — his wife, daughter and son. The author is too concerned with fractured time and fractured selves to be bothered with having such a thing as a dramatic moment. Remarkable for his simultaneous mastery of poetry, prose and drama, he was nominated for the Nobel Prize for Literature. In he was awarded the European Prize for Literature.
