I get the feeling that King is channeling more folks than Norman Daniels in this one. Parts of his childhood were spent in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where his father’s family was at the time, and in Stratford, Connecticut.

The abundance of them made me refine my theo The 31st book in my long-term Stephen King reading project and the first one I had never read before. But then she has her powers. The first reading, back on its release, left me cold, I have to say. This novel is no exception.

It wasn’t impossible not a one-star review because at least it’s an easy read, and I guess maybe a younger person with a less nuanced idea of what it means to be female might get more out of it, and yes, I know how this review reads knowing it comes from a male brain.

Anyway, Rose Madder is mostly about domestic abuse.
