Heroine’s character had many pleasing, fun, fresh parts to her hence not just 1 star and others that made me cringe.
Let’s just say it is not for the faint-hearted. Open Preview See a Problem? I probably shouldn’t have even opened this one, but I couldn’t help myself. Sinjun is an energetic and fun character, but instead of a charming hero, who is exasperated but secretly amused, we get an asshole like Colin who is determined to beat her into submission not literally, but it’s not too far off.
Listening to the book in Audio format was, for me, helpful because reading “Sinjun” in writing over and over in the text version of “The Sherbrooke Bride” drove me absolutely nuts.

The Heiress Bride
This is apparently the continuation of a three part series. The same independent woman and the stubborn man who doesn’t make most of the times anyway it was interesting I love Scotland stories but this wasn’t good enough but I did enjoy it at some point. I have been on a re-read kick and this is another re-read of Catherine Coulter for me.
I have a lot of feelings: Colin must marry for money, but it’s love at first sight for Sunjin. Sinjun manages an elopement to Scotland to begin her life in a drafty old castle that holds more revelations and surprises than Sinjun could ever imagine.

If we readers are lucky she at least wears dresses, not breeches. Doing stupid things,lying and putting themselves and other people in danger, not listening to common sense and all this because they want to “protect or save” someone.
The things I liked about this book were the funny parts with Sinjun’s insane family, and how her odd husband insists on calling her Joan Her stories were readable then and are still readable now, even though tastes in the “details” have changed.
